Principles and Values

Our values are simple. Inclusion and accessibility should be the basis of web content, not an afterthought, or no thought at all.

How We Are Different

Our key point of difference, is that we are dismantling the very culture which requires our services.

Global Coverage

We seek to raise awareness of accessibility on a global scale.

Who We are & How We Work

We are a group of developers whose primary goal is to make web content accessable to all through whatever channels we can.

We scour the web and contact companies when we see accessablity issues with their sites. We publish non-compliant sites, not to "name 'n shame", but to raise awareness of accessibility in web design and content.

We lecture on accessibility to audiences when invited, and promote a culture of inclusion.

We make our living from developing, and repairing, websites and web content for those who maintain a culture of inclusion.

Our History

Most of us began developing websites during the dot com boom of the 90's. Windows '95 had gained a firm hold of operating systems, and the web was a field of possibilities.

Back then, the web was new, and Dave Raggett had just created the HTML2 spec, which included alt tags for images. We have come far since those days, and, as new technology emerges, a constant battle is waged in making the new technologies available to people with disabiities.

The Web Accessibility Initiative was created to deal specifically with this issue. It is this intiative which drives us.

We are also active in the Pronunciation Task Force in the accessible Platform Architectures (APA) Working Group where we volunteer our time for accessibility.
